Probate

“Probate” means a legal document granted by the Probate Registry to the Executors of a Will authorising them to deal with a deceased person’s Estate.

If a person dies without leaving a Will (“intestate”) then the Probate Registry will grant “Letters of Administration” to the relatives.

Please contact us as soon as possible after the death of a loved one and we can then provide you with a no obligation quotation for us to deal with the administration of the estate.

Having experienced herself the loss of loved ones, Michelle understands how you may be feeling and is able to offer you a supporting and caring service.

If the majority of the deceased’s assets were in joint names, a Grant of Probate may not be necessary.

We can provide a limited service which involves us completing Inheritance Tax Forms and an Oath/Statement of Truth based on information supplied by you.  We rely totally on the figures you provided us with following completion of our questionnaire form and take no responsibility for the accuracy of these values.  We will submit the paperwork to the Probate Registry and then provide you with the original Grant and sealed copies once these have been received by us.

Alternatively we can provide a full service where you supply us with all paperwork located
amongst the deceased’s possessions concerning the assets and liabilities of the Estate, we search through this to identify all
organisations/individuals who appear to have dealt with the Deceased to ascertain the value of the estate as at the date of death, prepare the Inheritance Tax Forms together with the Oath/Statement of Truth  to be submitted to the Probate Registry, obtain the Grant of Representation, collect in the assets and settle the liabilities, prepare Estate and Distribution Accounts for your approval and then distribute to the beneficiaries.
